CPKC
MCF Electric was contracted to support the CPKC infrastructure project, a federally funded initiative serving agencies such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Border Patrol. This high-security, multi-scope project required extensive coordination and specialized installation to support advanced inspection and communication systems.
Our team handled the construction and installation of a high-capacity x-ray inspection system, including underground conduits, new electrical meters, and main distribution panels. To accommodate pedestrian and equipment access, we installed a prefabricated pedestrian bridge, as well as concrete radiation-shielding walls to protect from x-ray exposure.
To enhance site visibility and safety, we installed 100-foot high-mast lighting systems. The project also included the deployment of fiber optic lines and conduit for communication infrastructure, access control systems, and IP surveillance cameras used by CBP.
For backup power, we installed a 200-kilowatt Cummins diesel generator and a 600-amp ABB automatic transfer switch (ATS) to ensure uninterrupted operations during power outages. This system plays a critical role in supporting 24/7 federal inspection capabilities.
The CPKC project showcases MCF Electric’s expertise in delivering federal-grade infrastructure, combining electrical, structural, and communications systems in one integrated solution.
